A Mexican Navy training ship, ARM Cuauhtémoc, collided with the Brooklyn Bridge in New York during a navigation error, injuring around two dozen people—some critically. The ship, carrying over 200 people on a cadet training mission, lost power before its tall masts clipped the bridge, causing debris to fall onto the deck where several crew members were stationed.
Officials confirmed no one fell into the water and that the bridge suffered no major damage. Emergency services quickly responded, and all injured were hospitalized. The U.S. Coast Guard reported the loss of two mast tops but said everyone onboard was accounted for. The Mexican Navy acknowledged the damage and has launched an investigation.
