Air raid sirens rang out across Israel continuously from midnight into early Saturday, signaling a large-scale attack by Iran. Footage from within the occupied territories shows widespread destruction, which Israeli media described as the most severe in the country’s history.

The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) confirmed that more than 150 Israeli military and intelligence installations, including arms manufacturing facilities, were struck in the initial wave of Iranian ballistic missile attacks. Although the IRGC has not issued further updates following later volleys, reports indicate the intensity of the strikes increased throughout the night. Some Israeli outlets described the incoming warheads as “terrifying” in impact.

In response to the escalating threat, Israeli officials, including military leadership, have taken shelter in underground bunkers. Unverified reports suggest Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu may have left the country prior to the attacks. The Israeli government has confirmed multiple injuries and at least two fatalities resulting from the missile strikes.

Israel Resumes Strikes on Iran Following Tehran’s Retaliation

This offensive, named True Promise 3, was launched as retaliation for Israeli airstrikes that killed nearly 100 Iranian civilians and military personnel—including senior commanders and nuclear scientists—after targeting residential buildings and nuclear facilities in Tehran.

In the immediate aftermath of these Israeli strikes, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei appointed new commanders to replace the fallen military officials. In a statement, he vowed to render Israel “helpless” and “miserable” in the face of Iran’s armed response.

As Iranian missiles were launched, scenes of jubilation erupted across Iranian cities. Crowds gathered on rooftops and in city squares, chanting anti-Israel slogans and celebrating what they viewed as a just act of retaliation.

The Tehran Times has reported that further Iranian attacks on Israeli-occupied territories are expected to continue in the coming hours, deepening fears of a broader regional conflict.
