Petroleum prices in Pakistan are expected to see a minor reduction for the upcoming fortnight, with sources indicating a possible cut of up to Rs. 3 per litre.

According to initial estimates, the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) could fall by Rs. 3.13 per litre, while petrol may see a smaller decrease of around 61 paisas per litre or remain unchanged.

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) will submit its pricing summary to the government on August 31, taking into account global market trends and industry data. Oil marketing companies have already shared their calculations with the regulator. The Ministry of Finance, in consultation with the prime minister, will make the final decision.

Earlier this month, the government reduced the price of HSD by Rs. 12.84 per litre, bringing it down to Rs. 272.99, while keeping petrol unchanged at Rs. 264.61 per litre.
