Controversial YouTuber Rajab Butt has once again landed in legal trouble, this time over allegations of blasphemy linked to the launch of his perfume brand “295.”

The Sessions Court in Lahore has directed the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to take action against Butt. The order was issued by Additional Sessions Judge Shafqat Shehbaz Raja after petitioner Shehzada Adnan, represented by lawyer Muhammad Mudasir Chaudhry, claimed the NCCIA had failed to act on his complaint.

The controversy erupted after Butt promoted a perfume called “295,” referencing Section 295 of the Pakistan Penal Code that relates to blasphemy. Religious groups strongly objected, accusing him of insulting religious beliefs. A case was subsequently registered at Lahore’s Nishtar Colony Police Station under PPC Section 295-A and Section 11 of the Prevention of Electronic Crimes Act (PECA).

Amid public backlash, Butt issued an apology video, stating he never intended to disrespect religious sentiments. He also announced the discontinuation of the perfume. “I apologise for the words I uttered during the launch of the perfume,” he said.

This latest development follows earlier legal troubles faced by Butt, including a previous blasphemy case last year. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison, putting him at the center of one of Pakistan’s most high-profile legal and social media controversies.
