The government has officially confirmed public holidays across Pakistan in observance of the 9th and 10th of Muharram, allowing citizens to participate in religious commemorations marking Ashura.
The holidays will be observed nationwide, with federal and provincial government offices, educational institutions, and many businesses expected to remain closed. Authorities are also coordinating security and traffic management plans to ensure the peaceful conduct of religious processions and gatherings.
Law enforcement agencies have been directed to implement comprehensive security measures, while local administrations will oversee route management and emergency services during the observance of Muharram.
