Following the expiration of his contract with Manchester United over a month ago, Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has decided to join Saudi Arabian football club Al Nassr. This is after officially ending his contract with the English club.

Having signed a bumper contract with the Saudi Arabian club worth around €200 million per year. This is slated to be the most expensive contract in football’s history. Ronaldo will be playing for the Saudi Arabian club for the next two and a half years.


The official account of the football club, Al Nassr, confirmed Ronaldo’s arrival on various social media platforms on the same day he made his announcement. The club said that the signing was not only meant to elevate the football club, but also to serve as a source of inspiration for future generations within the country and to help promote football even more in Saudi Arabia as a whole.

In the wake of his highly successful career in Europe, the five-time Ballon d’Or winner made the decision to move to Saudi Arabia.
