The incident occurred as Afridi was walking towards the dressing room. The spectator, holding an Afghan flag in the stands, directed disrespectful remarks towards Afridi. The visibly upset bowler promptly confronted the individual.

Video clips of the incident circulated widely online, capturing Afridi’s reaction to the misbehavior. Afridi quickly reported the incident to the security chief at the venue. In response, security promptly escorted the Afghan spectator out of the premises.
