All new Snapdragon and Samsung smartphone chipsets to feature ARM X1 core

British chipset-maker and designer, ARM recently announced that their successor to the current high-end CPU core namely the, Cortex A78, is going to be releasing in the next few months, they made this announcement back in July. Moreover, the new ARM X1 CPU core has claimed to bring in not only performance gains but in addition to that the company have promised significantly better efficiency in the new cores as well. The new core will is set to power the next-generation flagship devices. 

Furthermore, famous leaker, Ice Universe has claimed that the ARM X1 Core shall be featured in both the Exynos and Snapdragon flagship chips which are to be released in the future. This goes to say that the Galaxy S21/S30 lineup may well be the very first  flagship series which will come loader with these high-level flagship chipsets in them which should excite a lot of Samsung fans out there.

It should also be noted that both the Snapdragon and Exynos chipsets will have a 1+3+4 CPU core sequence. The single powerful core in the configuration is going to be the X1 while the other three will be Cortex A78 cores and the final four will be Cortex A55 efficiency cores, providing you with a balanced over chipset. That is only if ARM doesn’t announce a successor to their small efficiency core, the Cortex A55, in which case the last four cores may well be different.

Since ARM has promised that their new high-end X1 core will have up to 30% performance gains over previous generation of chipsets, this is why it will likely remain a single core due to the high power consumption of the core. Two major Chinese giants, Xiaomi and Oppo have already booked the upcoming Snapdragon flagship chips which means that we may well see the X1 Core feature in the high-performance devices of Xiaomi and Oppo devices in the future.
