We are just a few months away from 2022’s end, which means it is time to start thinking about next year’s phones. According to Samsung’s usual roadmap, the Samsung Galaxy S23 ultra series will be released in early 2023, and leaks have already started.

An unreleased sample of the camera from the Galaxy S23 Ultra has been shared by renowned tipster Ice Universe. The camera samples still look promising, despite the fact that work is unfinished since the phone won’t launch for a few months.

This is a cropped image of the Galaxy S23 Ultra (upscaled 16x) and the Galaxy S22 Ultra (enhanced 16x). Contrary to its predecessor, the new Ultra phone produces much sharper images and has the ability to distinguish between parallel lines that are tightly packed. These shots were taken without AI enhancements.

As Samsung’s first phone with a 200MP camera, the S23 Ultra is expected to use a new sensor instead of the ISOCELL sensor seen on other phones. In addition to the 12.5MP and 200MP claims made originally, the cat tipster suggests this sensor will have a 1/1.3″ 0.6m image sensor that will support 50MP. Several other modes are being developed, according to reports.

Additionally, the rumor is that the S23 Ultra will have a telephoto camera that is similar to the S22 Ultra, but with improved image processing to enhance picture quality. Camera samples from the zoom lens have not yet been shared by the tipster.

There is still a few months until the S23 Ultra launches, so the camera quality may improve. Since Samsung keeps updating its cameras after launch, we can expect the camera performance to continue improving into 2023.
