Apple starts process of commencing iPhone 12 assembly in India

Not so long ago it was discovered that tech giant Apple was actually considering to start assembling its flagship iPhone devices in India. While the news did seem a tad vague at some point, confirmation from the company has now indeed made its way from Apple itself as the company has indeed gone on to confirm that it has in fact started the production of the iPhone 12 in the country. In a country where the population is more than a billion people, this news of course means that the company has taken a giant leap.

In a statement which was subject to being made public on Thursday, Apple proceeded on to claim that it was proud of its decision to begin production of the iPhone 12 in India. Of course the production of the flagship smartphone will mainly be for the huge local market available for the product in the country.

So as to not be caught in the crossfire that has now defined the simmering trade conflict which exists between both China and the US, Apple has gradually been engaged in the process of shifting some of its aspects of production from China to other countries across the globe. Indeed even with new administration in place in the US, it seems as if the tensions are still on the rise between both the US and China. Recently, inside sources have also gone on to claim that both India as well as Vietnam are among the beneficiaries from the scaled-down production activity that has ensued with respect to Apple in China.

Apple’s production plans aren’t just limited to iPhones, as the company is also looking towards the prospect of assembling its tablets in the country. In this respect of course, one would have to imagine then that thousands and thousands of jobs will be created in the process – most of which will be in favor of Indian citizens.
