SHARP AQUOS ZERO 2 ANNOUNCED!

Considering the fact that the Chinese market happens to be the biggest smartphone market in the world, many had expected that the smartphone industry will particularly be hit hard altogether as the Covd-19 pandemic stemmed from the region. This has indeed turned out to be the case, however, things have started to improve ever since the month of March. A new report is now claiming that Apple iPhone sales have seen a surge in the country – more than what has been seen in any of the past three months.

Much like other countries, the coronavirus hit China hard too as there were lockdowns to be seen all across the country – and this severely affected the business environment that is seen within. However, as the country is now recovering from the whole situation, smartphone sales too have seen a drastic improvement.

A recent report claimed that China witnessed 40.782 million units of smartphone shipments in the month of April, while another highlighted the progress that Apple has made in the country in recent times. Indeed it has been said that Apple sold 3.9 million iPhones in the month of April – this representing a 160% MoM increase. Out of these 3.9 million units, 24 percent were actually the iPhone SE 2020 even though the phone started to retail out from just last month. For the sake of comparison – Apple only sold 1.9 million units of the iPhones in the month of March.

Sales for Apple’s flagship smartphones plunged 60% YoY in the month of February. Of course Apple had to abide by government regulations and had to shut down stores in the country amid the pandemic, all stores were later re-opened by mid-March which lent a helping hand in sales.

Apple is yet to introduce a 5G enabled iPhone as the demand for 5G phones continues to grow within the country. It is expected though that the concept of 5G will indeed be introduced when the iPhone 12 hits the shelves.
