Eminem has been very straightforward lately regarding his dislike of modern-day rap and how considers it to be mumble rap and nothing else with no meaning whatsoever. Eminem being the staple of hip-hop, and actually paving the way for the rap songs that he is famous for today, is now being questioned by none other than Justin Bieber who wrote on Instagram:
‘I just like Em’s flow but don’t like that he’s dissing new rappers.
I like the new generation of rap he just doesn’t understand it.’
This was accompanied by a snapshot of his music player playing ringer by Eminem from his surprise diss album Kamikaze. This particular album was subject to worldwide attention as Eminem addressed all the mumble rappers and dissed them to such an extent that it encouraged MGK (Machine Gun Kelly) to diss back and this was unsurprisingly replied to by Eminem. This fiasco has now dated but Justin Bieber claiming that Eminem doesn’t understand rap, spread like wildfire with twitter getting crazy. Here are some of the reactions on the snapshot:
imagine thinking that eminemdoesn‘t know what rap is…. eminem literally paved the way for a whole new section of rap lmao
I’d pay money to watch Justin Bieber try to explain anything about hip hop to Eminem
This might be a little bit of a frustration let-out by Justin who was mentioned in one of Eminem’s songs:
Justin Bieber in a Catholic school
Selling dust and reefer when your back is to him.
Admittedly, I don’t think Bieber would have ever got away with claiming Eminem ‘doesn’t understand rap’. The 46-year-old is a staple of hip hop, and has been releasing tracks for decades, likely making him an influence for many newer rappers around today.
If anyone understands rap, it’s the Rap God.
