Elon Musk, who happens to be the CEO of SpaceX and Tesla, the appearance has plans that would end up taking advertising out of this world – literally. Indeed the billionaire would be partnering up with a Canadian-based startup in order to launch a satellite that will act as a billboard for the sake of advertising in space.

Indeed Musk’s latest endeavor will have SpaceX join to launch a satellite into low Earth Orbit by next year. The company’s team seeks to send the satellite into space aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket – which will end up enabling advertisements to be sent up from Earth. Talking about the satellite itself, it goes by the name of CubeSat and will end up featuring a pixelated display screen that will showcase the contents that it receives from Earth.

The startup, which goes by the name of Geometric Energy Corp, proceeded on to add that apart from just the advertising, the screen can also in fact be used to display logos and also art. Samuel Reid, who happens to be the CEO as well as the co-founder of GEC actually told business insiders that the rocket will in fact carry CubeSat into orbit and will release it before the rocket finally reaches the moon. While to some this may end up sounding a tad intrusive because looking at the sky and seeing an ad isn’t all that great of course, but you can rest assured due to the fact that the billboard won’t be visible from Earth.

Indeed rather than being outright visible, the content on display with respect to the satellite’s display will actually be streamed on platforms such as YouTube and Twitch via the aid of a camera. In other words – a selfie stick will capture and then send the content/advertisements on the satellite streaming sites. In practice then, this refers to the fact that anyone with an internet connection and access to such websites will be able to see the satellite’s screen.
