In Sargodha, the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) has introduced a dedicated service counter for transgender individuals, which will operate once a week. Deputy Director Raazia Yasmin announced that a recent survey identified 3,800 transgender individuals in the district, who are expected to be registered under the program. These new counters, located at the Tehsil level in Sillanwali, Sahiwal, Kotmomin, Bhera, Bhulwal, and Sargodha, will be available on Saturdays to facilitate registration and support services.

Earlier, Senator Rubina Khalid, Chairperson of BISP, announced the launch of a new banking system aimed at improving the efficiency of fund disbursement to eligible women. In a media statement, she explained that the system would work in collaboration with six banks to minimize human intervention and ensure timely payments to beneficiaries. Khalid emphasized that BISP’s transparency has been recognized by international organizations such as the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank. Currently, approximately 9.3 million deserving families are receiving support through this system.
