Black Shark 2 Gaming phones had become the norm in 2018 and it feels like its going to continue onwards and upwards in 2019. Razer, Xiaomi, Asus all have their own take on what the ideal gaming phone should be like. Modified processors, impressive cooling systems and extravagant storage capabilities are just some of the ways a gaming phone distinguishes itself from the rest of the populated smartphone world.

Among them is the Black Shark (One attractive name for a gaming smartphone), the gaming phone division of Xiaomi who has lately been drumming up a storm to promote its second phone, due out next Monday. Black Shark CEO Peter Wu has shared a poster on Chinese social network Weibo which confirms Snapdragon 855 and 12 GB RAM on the Black Shark 2. Wu also said that this smartphone will come with e-sports grade battery which will offer 60% improved performance over its predecessor. The company previously confirmed that the Black Shark 2 will come with a liquid cooling technology dubbed Liquid Cool 3.0. Considering the over-the-top specs, its is extremely necessary to add the best of liquid cooling systems to keep the phone cool while gaming intensive tasks after the massive failure that was the Galaxy Note 7 (which wasn’t even necessarily too over-the-top).

Black Shark hasn’t revealed anything else about this gaming smartphone, but thanks to AnTuTu, we know that it will come with 128 GB storage and a display resolution of 2340 x 1080 pixels. There will also be a variant of Black Shark 2 coming with 8 GB RAM.

Ahead of the official launch, the reservation page for the flagship gaming rig has gone line on Black Shark’s official store. The Black Shark 2 reservation page affords interested buyers to indicate their interest before it goes official. In that way, they will be notified when the pre-order starts or it goes on sales. The price for the model is just listed as 9,999 yuan which is apparently a place holder. The actual price will be revealed when it is launched. The variants and colour options are also not revealed in the listing. We’ll have to stay put till the launch date.
