He says that the team very unfortunate to not win the Test and T20I series against England, despite playing brilliant cricket on the tour. In terms of the T20 cricket that Pakistan played, he believes that the batsmen played superbly and even managed to score over 190 runs in both the matches against a top of the line bowling attack. Seeing the current form and the set of players they have on the roster, Misbah believes that Pakistan should be fighting for major trophies and winning them in the times to come.

He said that the young players have only just started to play for the team and have not managed to play more than five or six years in the national team, hence it should be a decent platform for them to showcase their talent and skill. Misbah further added that he has always been an advocate of integrating young players in the national cricket team but believed that modern cricket demands having the right balance of experienced and youngsters in the game to get the desired result.
Zimbabwe will tour Pakistan for a limited-overs series at the end of October and cricket analysts and fans have urged the chief selector to give a chance to young players. Misbah has already made it clear that he will select players by taking in to account the current combination of players he has on board. Finally, the head coach added that the squad which plays the series against Zimbabwe shall be announced after the National T20 Cup formally ends. He believes that the selection committee can evaluate the performances of the players in the tournament and can then make the final decision on who gets to feature against the Zimbabwe cricket team.
