Moments after the shocking news broke to the world that legendary actor Sean Connery had left the world on Saturday, entertainment figures from all over the globe expressed their deep grief and offered various tributes in honour of the work the amazing actor was able to achieve, especially as the secret spy, 007..

The current James Bond, Daniel Craig, issued a statement on Twitter which was then posted by the franchise. The statements said, “It is with such sadness that I heard of the passing of one of the true greats of cinema,” Craig further added that Connery will be remembered as Bond “and so much more”. He further said that “He defined an era and a style. The wit and charm he portrayed on screen could be measured in mega watts; he helped create the modern blockbuster,” said the actor, adding that Connery will “continue to influence actors and filmmakers alike for years to come”.

Liam Cunningham, an actor who had previously co-starred alongside Connery in the First Knight states that, “This man was really good to me. They say don’t meet your heroes. He exceeded all expectations. RIP Sean.” In addition, Hollywood superstar, Hugh Jackman also added to the list of cleberities who expressed their feelings towards the death of the legendary actor by recalling who he grew up “idolising” Connery. He added, “A legend on screen, and off. Rest in peace,”. In turn, Pakistani Singer/Actor Ali Zafar believes that Connery was “the original 007”, said that he was “the epitome of grace”.
American filmmaker Kevin Smith said the death of Connery was like him losing his dad once again. Sharing the great space Connery occupied in his relationship with his dad, he wrote to Twitter: “He was my dad’s James Bond, so dad supported Mr Connery’s career his entire life, always taking me to see any movie his fave actor was in. He added that he will always remain in the “sweet memories” of watching his father watch his “movie idol, so Sean Connery’s passing also feels like I’m losing dad again. RIP, Dr Jones,” added the actor.

English journalist and broadcaster Piers Morgan said George Lazenby — who took over as 007 after Connery retired from the role and he was right when he told him: “Sean Connery was James Bond, the rest of us were just imposters”, which goes to show the immense work that the remarkable actor was able to achieve in his career.
