Despite Google’s decision to launch its Pixel 7 Pro as its latest flagship model, the company only recently shared the honor with Honor’s Magic4 Ultimate when it comes to DxOMark’s best camera. There has been a massive change in the world of smartphones in the last few years, and now both of these devices have been dethroned by the Huawei Mate 50 Pro.

DxOMark names Huawei Mate 50 Pro its most impressive camera phone

DxOMark has awarded the Huawei Mate 50 Pro 149 points in its smartphone camera test due to its triple camera system of 50MP + 64MP + 13MP sensors that are enhanced with features such as optical image stabilization, 3.5x optical zoom, and variable aperture technology that has been improved with its new triple camera system. At the present time, the Google Pixel 7 Pro and the Honor Magic4 Ultimate have been tied for second place with 147 points each.

In addition, the test also revealed that the Mate 50 Pro had some white balance issues, as well as, in some situations, its new XMAGE AI processing made it slower in terms of capturing the scene in certain situations. It must be noted, however, that those minor differences were insufficient for the Mate 50 Pro to receive a total score of 149, despite these minor differences.

This is quite an impressive camera performance, and adds a lot of value to the Mate 50 Pro, which is in the position of not having both 5G and Google Play Services on board. The Pixel 7 Pro and the Honor Magic4 Ultimate are both sporting considerably higher price tags than the Honor Magic4 Ultimate, which is a bit higher than the Pixel 7 Pro.
