The founder of famous companies such as Tesla and SpaceX, Elon Musk has just become the world’s wealthiest person in the world as his net worth surpassed $185bn (£136bn) after shares in the electric car company rose up by 4.8% on Thursday. He has taken the top spot away from the founder of Amazon, Jeff Bezos who had been atop the rankings since 2017.
It is worth noting that the reason why Musk was able to reach at the level was because his electric car company, Tesla has saw a significant rise in its value of shares and hit reached a market valuation of $700bn (£516bn) for the first time on Wednesday. This has in turn resulted in the car company becoming far more wealthier than the likes of Toyota, Volkswagen, Hyundai, GM, and Ford all combined,” as mentioned in a report published by the BBC.
