Pakistan’s IT services exports earned US$ 633.130 million in the first quarter of 2022-23, according to PBS. From US$ 490.850 million last year to US$ 516.410 million this year, exports of computer services grew by 5.21 percent.
Exports of IT services generate $633m for Pakistan
Software consultancy services saw a 5.73 percent increase in exports. Exports of hardware consultancy services also increased by 10.27 per cent from US$ 0.837 million to US$ 0.923 million as the revenue increased from US$ 176.506 million to US$ 186.622 million.
Furthermore, computer software-related services export and import increased 14.51 percent. US$ 124.702 million becomes US$ 142.793 million. However, exports of repair and maintenance services decreased to US$ 0.218 million from US$ 0.345 million.
A 1.38 percent increase is also seen in other computer services exports. From US$ 1.340 million to US$ 1.030 million, exports of information services decreased by 23.13 per cent.
Moreover, news agency exports dropped 22.66 per cent to US$ 0.744 million from US$ 0.962 million. In addition, other information services exports decreased by 24.34 per cent from US$ 0.378 million to US$ 0.286 million.
Additionally, the export of telecommunications services decreased by 18.94% from US$ 142.720 million to US$ 115.690 million.
During the period, call center services exports increased from US$44.026 million to US$53.361 million, an increase of 21.20 percent. During the period under review, exports of other telecommunications services decreased by 36.85 percent from US$ 89.694 million to US$ 62.329 million.
