LG‘s next flagship phone may tout an extra-bright, low-power screen. LG is going to release its new flagship phone with nicknamed Judy in 2018. Although the company is not getting into the fuss of typical smartphone release cycles but it doesn’t mean it will have nothing big to show in 2018.

According to Evan Blass (the well known leaker), LG is planning to unveil a new flagship phone, nicknamed Judy.

But the interesting thing about this new flagship release is the star attraction, as with the G6 would be the display. Well, display is getting attention not for the typical reasons like size or resolution.

The reason is that, Judy would have a 6.1-inch, 18:9 ratio screen whose MLCD+ technology which includes white sub-pixels give your word high 800-nit brightness while consuming 35% less power than a typical IPS LCD panel. Isn’t cool?

The best thing about it, you could use the phone outside on a sunny day without killing your battery as quick as usual. The reason is IPS LCD panel would use 35% less power than other smartphones. So, it seems “Judy” would be outdoor friendly handset.

Moreover, generally, LG would be marking checkboxes on what you’d hope for in a 2018 smartphone. You are going to get

  • Snapdragon 845 processor (albeit with ‘just’ 4GB of RAM),
  • Dual 16-megapixel rear cameras with glass optics and f/1.6 apertures, stereo speakers
  • HDR visuals
  • Water resistance
  • Wireless charging

Furthermore, the AI camera technology from the forthcoming V30 upgrade would also make the cut.

However, according to some authentic repots LG will launch it Judy in June later than usual for the company and surely later than Samsung’s Galaxy S9. So, don’t expect to see it at Mobile World Congress later in February. The company will have to induce buyers that it was worth the wait, and a bright and clever display will only go so far. Let’s see what comes next?
