Galaxy Note 9 delays due to last minute design changes. The launch event of Samsung has been delayed by the Vice Chairman for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Note 9. And, the reason is they are making some last-minute design changes.

The company was planning to reveal Samsung Galaxy Note 9 as early as mid-July this year. According to the previous reports from a South Korean news company “The Bell”, Samsung was launching the Note 9 earlier than usual as the Note 8 was launched in September 2017.

In a recent published Korean article it is declared that the Samsung’s Vice Chairman, Lee Jae-Yong has delayed the June release date by nearly two weeks.

According to the grapevine, he visited outlets of different smartphones brands like Xiaomi, Vivo, and as well as Oppo to see what their smartphones felt like in the hand.

While holding the handsets, Yong liked their design and determined to bring similar changes to the Note 9. Therefore, instead of mid-June, the Note 9 might get launched in August, with a few but major changes in design.

According to the details, the design changes involve a bit thinner front glass. The Note 9 was intended to feature a 1.5 mm thicker front glass as compared to the Note 8. Now, the company, as advised by the VC, will decrease the thickness of the front glass by 0.5 mm.

There is no doubt this is a significant change in term of design as it can affect a number of factors such as ergonomics, weight, and touch clarity.

Furthermore, this might also have to do something with Note 9’s potential in-display fingerprint sensor. According to GSMArena, a thinner glass can boost the speed and precision of such a scanner.

However, the upcoming flagship Note series by Samsung will certainly feature some high-quality hardware. Moreover, an in-display fingerprint scanner is highly expected as other companies, like Xiaomi, Huawei, and Vivo have already launched their own flagships having the same feature. So, we’ll get our hands on Samsung Note 9 later in August instead of mid-July
