Foldable Phones have been trying to make a statement in the smartphone market, but with the initial failure of the Galaxy Fold, it seemed like dark times were ahead for such devices. However, a lot has improved ever since with the Fold returning well and the Mate X also making rounds in China. In 2020, Samsung has now decided to use a different kind of flip to bring back the legacy of flip phones.

This would mean a vertically flipping phone and rather than becoming a tablet, the device would unfold to become a phone this time. This would make the phone extremely pocketable when in the folded mode. But, is it the way to go for foldables? Well, the answer to this would be in the hands of the customer. If one is all about portability than there is nothing better than the Z flip. But, if you want the tablet experience in the body of a normal smartphone than it is much harder to pick the Z Flip.

On top of that, Samsung hasn’t done a necesarrily good job at making it the best of devices. Priced at $1480 isnt cheap and Samsung should have kept this in mind. Although spec wise, the device is up there with the others, but there are a few compromises which could have been considered without just leaving them as is. One is the average battery performance because of the separate batteries and second is the lack of fast charging. These might not be deal breakers but at such a price, people expect everything to be top notch. Here are the specs to see how it fares with others on paper:
