Ghandhara Nissan Limited (GNL) is the assembler of the Chery Tiggo 4 Pro and Tiggo 8 Pro in Pakistan, a fact that speaks volumes about the dire state of the industry, as the company has suspended production for a period of seven days.

There will be non-production days (NPDs) observed by the company between March 6, 2023, and March 10, 2023. Following the upcoming weekend, the company will resume operations on Monday, March 13, after it has had a weekend off. According to the report, the NPDs are due to a ban on importing completely knocked-down (CKD) kits from China.

There has also been a rise in the popularity of Chery among crossover shoppers in Pakistan as well. Although, as of late, the company has seen a decline in production and sales, which has dampened the company’s progress.

Furthermore, the unstable currency value is also having a detrimental effect on the price of cars, as a result of which the demand for them is declining. There are many experts who believe that this situation is likely to persist, resulting in the mass exodus of several new automakers in the near future.
