Xiaomi’s Pro tablet models have traditionally been confined to the Chinese market, with the Pad 6 series only releasing its standard variant internationally. However, a recent report from GSMChina suggests a departure from this trend with the upcoming Xiaomi Pad 7 lineup.

Contrary to earlier indications that the Pad 7 Pro would remain exclusive to China, the report reveals that both the standard Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro are set to have a global release. This information is based on the discovery of an internal HyperOS build for the Pad 7 Pro, signaling its integration into the global version of HyperOS.

While the report lacks details on the tablet’s specifications, there are speculations circulating. The Xiaomi Pad 7 might be powered by the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, while the Pad 7 Pro could feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Notably, rumors suggest that the Pad 7 Pro might boast a high-refresh-rate LCD panel with a impressive 144Hz capability.

Expected features of the Pad 7 Pro include a rear panel housing a 50MP dual-camera system. Though specifics on the device’s battery size are currently unavailable, it is anticipated to support rapid 67W charging. Audiophiles can look forward to quad speakers on the tablet. Moreover, the Pad 7 Pro is slated to run on HyperOS 14-based Android 14.

There are reports indicating that Xiaomi plans to unveil the Xiaomi 14 Ultra in an April 2024 launch event. Speculations are rife that the Pad 7 and Pad 7 Pro tablets will also make their debut at the same event.
