Hair Growth Treatment That Can Help With Thinning and Balding

Are there really effective hair growth treatment methods available today? There are many out there and they seem to promise different things. Many of them are not all that natural and even some of them can have dangerous side effects. Is natural products like minoxidil and finasteride actually effective hair growth treatments?

First, minoxidil is a prescription drug approved by the FDA that is often prescribed for dandruff and other skin conditions. This is what most people usually call a topical medication but it has more to do with its ability to reduce the blood flow to the scalp. When this happens the production of new hair follicles slows down and hair loss becomes more common.

Because of this minoxidil is often used to treat a wide range of conditions from depression to chronic baldness. Unfortunately, minoxidil does not stop the hair from falling off. It only helps keep the head looking healthy. So how does it help to stop balding?

Minoxidil blocks the production of DHT, which is a hormone produced in the scalp. When DHT attacks the hair follicles, it causes them to shrink which then causes the hair to fall out. Minoxidil works by stopping the hormone DHT from doing this.

In clinical studies minoxidil was found to stop the loss of hair in over 80% of women that used the product. Another study showed that minoxidil could stop the thinning and balding in about a third of men who used the product. However, when looking at other hair growth treatment methods minoxidil did not show much improvement.

The only other treatment that is based on minoxidil is called Finasteride. This is taken orally as a pill and it helps to prevent DHT from attacking the hair follicles. Although it does not stop hair from falling out, it does slow it down by limiting the production of DHT. So if you are using an oral medication to treat your hair loss and it is not showing any significant results, there may be other alternatives that may not show a result as quick as minoxidil in the short-term.

Like minoxidil, Finasteride is taken as a pill and it can also be used as a topical cream. In the case of Finasteride it acts by blocking a chemical called 5 alpha-hydroxy-hydroxy acids (AHAs). that is produced in the body when testosterone is being used. When AHAs reach the hair follicles they cause them to stop growing hair but it doesn’t stop them from being created.

This is why Finasteride is used in conjunction with Minoxidil to treat hair loss. Finasteride is considered the better one but it will also stop the production of DHT. As we can see, both are safe for use for treating hair loss but they do work at different times for different reasons.

There are some side effects associated with the use of a hair-growth treatment that will slow the hair growth process. These include loss of appetite and weight gain. However, there is usually a time period after you stop taking the medication where you should notice that your hair starts to grow back in.

As we have mentioned above, Minoxidil is a product that is taken orally. Once you stop taking the product, it will stop working but it will never completely stop growing hair.

The best option to take when looking for a hair growth treatment is to find a product that can both block DHT and Minoxidil and also provide an oral supplement. such as Lutein or Saw Palmetto to promote the regrowth of hair. if you want the best results possible. You should also look for one that has all natural ingredients.

In the end, if you are experiencing hair loss, the best thing you can do is to take care of yourself by eating right, exercising, and staying away from stress. It will help your hair to grow in faster than you think.
