Hour-long videos are coming to Instagram very soon. Instagram has been constantly on a ride to get new and latest features and updates in order to improve its app. In last couples of months we have witnessed major features like muting an account, re-sharing posts to stories, adding music to stories and new emoji sliders.
However, this time the company is planning something big. Facebook-owned Instagram is planning to modify the time limits it offers for videos on its platform.
As, in current version aren’t allow to share long videos like such as a clip of 30 minutes or an one-hour long video. However, this new feature will make it happen.
According to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), the purpose of introducing this new feature is to provide more time flexibility to users and allow them to post videos up to an hour long.
In addition, the upcoming feature is also an effort to bring Instagram more in line with YouTube and Facebook as there are no time limit issues with both platforms and users can post videos without taking into view the time constraints.

It is important to mention here that currently, Instagram allow users post a video limited to 1 minute while Instagram stories let short clips of 15 seconds each. Moreover, this new feature will focus on vertical videos.
Although, Instagram Stories are already designed about that tall, vertical video format, but the report has not mention clearly whether longer videos would be permitted to only in that section of the app or allowed in the main feed of the platform as well.
Having over 800 million users and of which about 300 million are active daily users of the stories feature is big success for Instagram. It stories section is famous because Stories allow users to watch time-limited posts that run out after a day. It gives users a magazine-like view into the lives of their friends and family and accounts they follow.
As, Instagram seems to bring in a feature designed to share long videos, this option can be even fit into the stories section as well.
