Huawei never slows down does it? Just when we thought that it was getting way too late for the Mate X to show up in markets, Huawei just released it in China. No word for any announcement in the west, which is understandable with the deteriorating relationships with the US and consequently Google. Huawei has reportedly given the Mate XS the go-ahead signal as well meaning that it will be available next March with upgraded specs and 5G.

The changes are said to be minimal so those of you waiting for massive upgrades would have to wait a bit longer. But it is an extremely surprising move by Huawei as they must be aware of the fact that currently customers are not able to install Google apps on their phones and thus have no access to the play store, or other Google apps for that matter. But this recent announcement of the Mate XS means that foldable phones are confirmed as our future and they are here to stay with things only getting more and more heated as time passes because with the eventual success of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, Samsung would also be working on a newer model to get back up with Huawei.

But then again, the question arises of the need for an S version if the only purpose is to give it a spec refresh which in the current generation of speeds that we are in is not needed. However, Huawei looks all set to introduce its Kirin 990 chip inside the Mate XS and also to make 5G as part of their future plan and further integration so that more and more people can use the next generation of speeds on the best of Huawei devices.
