This would come as a surprise from Huawei or a desperate attempt to prevent the predicted future losses, but Huawei is sort of caving in to the US pressure by offering a settlement through its 5G technology.

This might be considered a smart move because they would be able to retain the US market and simultaneously benefit US which would be able to speed up its 5G rollout which is still at a measly rate compared to the progress Huawei has made. Huawei would be sharing its technology with the American companies to get US to ease up on their bans and allow Huawei to do business again. Huawei would be allowing the companies to edit the software code and customize it to their liking.

It Is still to see whether US is ready to accept the offer or not but if they do, this would be a plus for both sides as it is a win-win situation. CEO Ren has offered the deal in the following statement.

Huawei is open to sharing our 5G technologies and techniques with U.S. companies, so that they can build up their own 5G industry. That would create a balanced situation between China, the U.S. and Europe

As part of the deal Huawei would be allowing American companies to make 5G enabled products or their own 5G devices to countries throughout the world except China.

This alarmed a lot of people in the company as well as people in China who would not like its most advanced tech company give out things to its rival and allow US to play with 5G and make it their own although Huawei would own the intellectual property rights to the 5G licensed devices. This offer is still in consideration and US has not accepted anything as of yet.
