By launching an A-segment crossover SUV, Honda plans to diversify its SUV lineup. In spite of the car’s name not being confirmed, reports suggest it will be called the WR-V, and it will compete against Kia Sonet, Toyota Raize, Daihatsu Rocky, and other similar SUVs. A small hatch rivaling Suzuki Swift, the WR-V shares its platform with Honda Jazz. Last year, the company concept was introduced in Indonesia.

With a variety of modern design elements, the concept car is known as the RS SUV. Despite the simple appearance of the production version, it is much more functional. A sporty bumper, a mesh grille, and sharp headlamps adorn the front fascia. A few distinctive lines, an edgy alloy wheel design, and a backed-out roof rail give this SUV a standard appearance on the outside. A few similarities can be found at the rear of the SUV, such as the taillights and the tailgate. Natural-aspirated 1.2-liter City engines or 1.5-liter BR-V engines are expected to power the base WR-V. As opposed to the RS variant, which has a more peppy turbo engine.

It is also not clear what the price will be, but market speculation points to around RM for the Honda WR-V. The price will be around 72,600 rupees (approximately Rs. 3.4 million). Several mini-SUVs could be threatened by Honda at this price.
