The Tecno Phantom X2 series was officially unveiled today by Tecno. As part of the lineup, there are two models, namely the Tecno Phantom X2 and the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro. First of all, these devices are the brand’s first true flagship smartphones, which are of the highest quality.
There are almost no differences between the two devices when it comes to specs. It is only the cameras on the phones that differ between them. The following is a list of all the services they offer, so let’s take a closer look at them.
Tecno Phantom X2 Series Specifications
Tecno Phantom X2 series features a unique design which makes it stand out from the crowd. In order to make these handsets easy to identify, they come with a large camera island on the back that is centered in the middle of the device. In order to distinguish the pro model from the vanilla version, the pro model is distinguished by a colored ring around one of the cameras.
This handset is equipped with a 6.8-inch curved AMOLED display with a resolution of FHD+, a refresh rate of 120Hz, as well as a touch sampling rate of 360Hz. It also has a 20:9 aspect ratio. In addition to covering 100% of the DCI-P3 color gamut, the 10-bit panel has a centered punch-hole and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus to protect the panel from damage.
In addition to this, the phones are powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9000 chipset. As part of the package, this SoC is paired with a vapor chamber cooling system, LPDDR5X RAM, and UFS 3.1 storage. The software for the device is HiOS 12.0 running on Android 12.0 based on HiOS 12.0.
There are a variety of connectivity options available with these smartphones, such as dual SIM, 5G, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.3, GNSS, NFC, and USB 2.0 (Type-C). I find it interesting that although they do not come with dual stereo speakers, they do come with an in-screen fingerprint sensor.
With regard to the main feature of the phone, the Tecno Phantom X2 Pro packs a 50MP Samsung JN1 retractable portrait camera with support for 2.5x zoom and an aperture of f/1.49, which is the main highlight of this device. As well as this camera, there is also a 50MP Samsung GNV primary camera and a 13MP Samsung 3L6 ultra-wide camera with macro vision, which is paired with this camera.
It is important to note that all three cameras support auto-focus. There is, however, no OIS on any of them.
It’s worth mentioning that both smartphones have a 32MP selfie camera and are powered by a battery with a capacity of 5,160mAh. And last but not least, they also support fast recharging with a power output of 45W.
Tecno Phantom X2 Series Price and Availability
The Tecno Phantom X2 series will retail at the following price tags in Saudi Arabia.
- Tecno Phantom X2 (8GB + 256GB) – SAR 2,699 ($718)
- Tecno Phantom X2 Pro (12GB + 256GB) – SAR 3,499 ($930)
The vanilla model comes in Stardust Grey and Moonlight Silver color options. Whereas, the Pro variant can be availed in Mars Orange (made of recycled plastic) and Stardust Grey.
The phones will be available in select countries across Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East.
