All the talk of the sub-continent these days and for the last 70 years have been the freedom of Kashmir. It all started when a muslim majority area was handed over to India upon partition just because its ruler was an India. What followed were more than 70 years of unrest through which countless lives were lost and peace is still hiding in the shadows of those who have power. Politics is a deadly assassin and this statement would be backed by all Kashmir.

Just recently, Modi revoked Article 370 which now allows anyone to buy land in Kashmir, in an attempt to balance the muslim majority. It is a disappointing move and one which has caused severe lockdown in Kashmir. However, after all this, it has received no international response on the basis of human rights violation. It is sad to see the United Nations, a league formed to enable Nations to work together to prevent such genocides have been silent on such a serious matter, but considering its stance on torture of Muslims throughout the world, in Syria and Palestine, in Myanmar and all other areas where muslims are being brutally murdered, it wouldn’t be surprising that the UN would not be able to figure the situation out and all that remains is just a name, the so called, “United” Nations.

This unrest has now reached London where Pakistani protesters took to the Indian Embassy office holding Kashmir and Pakistan Flags. Indian supporters showed up at the same avenue and responded the chants with MODI MODI. The Pakistani rally was led by Zulfi Bukhari, Federal Minister for overseas Pakistanis. The chants included “KASHMIR BANEGA PAKISTAN” and “PAKISTAN ZINDABAD”.

A solution to the Kashmir Issue would be needed because it is not just two nations that are fighting but it is people around the world who are divided, and if matters got worse this could lead to severe consequences for both nations.
