After all the leaks as well as teases that made their way, Lamborghini finally announced its new hybrid-engine Countach. Thankfully, pretty much all there is to know about this car is within its model designation: LPI 800-4. The first part actually happens to be short for Longitudinale Posteriore Ibrido – going on to reference how the power train is mounted lengthwise towards the back of the car and also the fact that it’s indeed hybrid. Meanwhile, the two numbers go on and point to the approximately 802 horsepower the Countach’s V12 6.5 liter engine will power and 48-volt electric motor as well to support that output. Also of course is important to consider the fact that the car is a four-wheel drive.
All of this of course makes for a very powerful car. The Countach has the capabilities to accelerate from zero to 60 miles per hour in less than three seconds and can go from zero to 124 miles per hour in just under nine seconds. As far as the top speeds go, you can push the vehicle up to 221 miles per hour.

Also, powering the Countach’s electric motor happens to be a supercapacitor which Lamborghini actually claims goes on to deliver three times more power when compared to a lithium-ion battery of the same weight. The automaker also proceeds to claim that it has actually mounted the electric motor directly to the gearbox so as to preserve the feeling of power transfer that you get from a V12 engine.
It has also been claimed that Lamborghini will be making only 112 units of the Countach LPI 800-4. The press release that the car giant actually sent over doesn’t mention a specific price tag. All in all, it does seem that Lamborghini is keen on looking forward but the Countach was just a little too important not to acknowledge with a limited run.
