South-Korean company LG has quietly released their latest entry-level smartphone, dubbed the LG K42 was launched in the Dominican Republic yesterday. When compared to other Smartphones present in the market at the same price that this particular model is going for, the K42 comes with improved aesthetics and better specifications, all in providing you with a pretty decent option. The phone has followed the trend of a 2020 rectangular camera setup at the back, the LG K42 some with a grippy wave pattern on its back due to anti-scratch UV coating.
The smartphone measures 165 x 76.7 x 8.4mm in terms of dimensions and comes with MIL-STD-810G certification which means that the phone can withstand extreme environmental conditions which should suit many countries with rather harsh and high temperatures. The LG K42 comes packed with a large 6.6-inch display coupled with a 720 x 1600 resolution and a tall aspect ratio. In terms of the hardware or the said device, the mobile phone device gains power from a MediaTek Helio P22 Chipset which comes with one memory variant thus far, 3 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. Users will also find a microSD card slot at the side, incase you wish to expand your storage further. .

In the OS department, the phone sports a LG UX, which is based on the Android 10 OS and comes equipped with a specific button which accesses the Google Assistant, 3D Sound Engine, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, a USB-C port, and a 3.5mm audio jack. The new phone from the South Korean company comes with a quad-sensor rear camera setup along with a 13 MP main camera, a 5 MP super-wide lens, a 2 MP depth sensor, and a 2 MP macro shooter. The selfie camera is pretty basic if anything, the sensor has a pixel resolution of 8MP which should give you decent selfies.Â
The device also comes with a 4000mAh battery pack, which should give an ample amount of run time on the device. Pricing and availability of the device is yet to be announced by the company, but we’ll keep you posted.
