The Chinese OEM, Huawei started pushing out the EMUI 10 update to the Mate 20 Lite in Europe somewhere in November last year and the rollout was seen as a precursor to the global release of the Android 10-based latest custom ROM. The company has now started to roll out the update to Mate 20 Lite users throughout the world and not just one particular region.

Moreover, the new update will bring the versions EMUI 10.0.0.172 and EMUI 10.0.0.170 which is dependent on what region the phone belongs to. Both these versions have a file size of about 4GB, quite large but nonetheless who doesn’t want the latest User Interface. In order for you to install the update, Go to Settings > System > Software update > Check for Updates. If an update is available, the phone will ask you if you would like to download the update. Another option on the cards is of the HiCare app as well, simply,  open HiCare app > Update > Check for updates.

So what does the new update bring to the table, well for a start the new EMUI 10 update brings improved smoothness and performance on the Mate 20 Lite models. In addition to that, the Chinese giant has also added a system-wide  dark mode which even forces apps that don’t have a dark mode to have that option available for the consumer. In the new update the system settings are much better organized and the OS is designed to offer a far better experience than that of other devices such as the Windows 10 laptop. EMUI 10 allows the smartphone to cast its screen directly on to the Windows 10 device, this in turn offers users a very suitable working experience. The update equally brings Android 10-inherent features.

It should be remembered that the Mate 20 Lite was released way back in 2018 and at the time the phone brought a lot to the table, the phone has a 6.3-inch Full-HD+ display with 2340 x 1080 pixels screen resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio which offers you a total pixel density of 409ppi. The device in turn has a notched display and it gains power from the Kirin 710 chipset.
