MediaTek Officially Introduces Helio G100 Chipset Following Tecno Camon 30S Pro Debut
MediaTek has officially launched its Helio G100 chipset, just eight days after the first smartphone featuring the platform, the Tecno Camon 30S Pro, was released. The newly revealed specifications show that the Helio G100 shares many similarities with its predecessor, the Helio G99, in terms of CPU and GPU configuration. However, the most significant upgrade is the support for 200 MP main cameras.
The Helio G100 is equipped with an octa-core CPU, consisting of two 2.2 GHz Cortex-A76 cores and six 2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores. It supports LPDDR4X RAM, UFS 2.2 storage, and a maximum display resolution of 2,520 x 1,080 pixels.

The Helio G99 has been a popular choice for mid-range smartphones in LTE markets, offering a cost-effective alternative to similarly performing Dimensity chipsets. With advancements in camera technology since 2022, MediaTek has upgraded the Helio G100 to support a 200 MP single camera. Additionally, the chipset maintains the dual 16 MP + 16 MP shooting capability and 32 MP video capture at 30 fps that were present in the G99.
One of the new features in the Helio G100 is the “Elevator Mode,” which quickly restores cellular connectivity after exiting areas with no signal, such as tunnels or elevators. The chipset also supports dual 4G SIM cards with VoLTE and ViLTE capabilities.
MediaTek has already started supplying the Helio G100 to manufacturers, so we can expect to see more smartphones powered by this chipset in the near future.
