Minister of State for Climate Change, Zartaj Gul, has uncovered that 57 brightening items in Pakistan, including some worldwide brands, contain disease causing components.

A sur­vey led by the min­istry uncovered that 57 out of 59 creams had mercury lev­el above 1pbm, which involves concern.

The State Minister said that the man­ufacturers of brightening items have been encouraged to diminish the mercury level from the items. 

Skin-whiten­ing items makers have been approached to lessen the mercury level in their prod­ucts to 1pbm before the finish of 2020. 

Zartaj Gul said that the gov­ernment is bringing an activity intend to control the utilization of mercury and other destructive substances in skin items. She additionally encouraged the media to debilitate deluding commercials with respect to skin brightening items.

Zartaj Gul featured that a worldwide producer renamed its item, Fair and Love­ly, to Fair and Glow on the service’s proposal. 

She noticed that the government bureau has endorsed the Minamata Convention on Mercury and that the service will pass and proper enactment to execute the show.
