It seems that National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has been on fire by opening and handling some big corruption cases in country. In this regard, recently Nab has approved an inquiry for inspection of supposedly illegal award of contract of the Next Generation Mobile Services (NGMS 3G/4G), due to which the national exchequer beard a huge loss.

In this regard a NAB Executive Board Meeting (EBM) was held, chaired by Chairman NAB Justice Javed Iqbal (retd) and attended by other senior officials. In this meeting all officials have taken the decision.

Now, after this decision an inquiry would run against former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar, former Minister for Information Technology Anusha Rehman and former Chairman Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) Dr Ismail Shah and others over the illegal award of contract of the 3G/4G. Since the EBM has approved the inquiry against these people.

Furthermore, the Board also initiated an inquiry process against those government officials who violated the rules and regulations in the year of 2013. According to officials of bureau, the payment of Rs 480 billion circular debt could be paid when this looted would return to national fund.

On the other hand, EBM also gave permission to hold an inquiry against the management of Neelum-Jhelum Project for suspected misuse of authority and corruption.

As, NAB is on the mission of eradicating big corruption cases, the Bureau also determined to launch an inquiry against Fawad Hassan Fawad who was former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s Principal Secretary. nAb decided to take this decision over his alleged misuse of authority and corruption, which gained huge losses to the national fund.

Another inquiry against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator Rubina Khalid would be conducted by NAB. Senator Rubina Khalid is former Executive Director Lok Virsa, Aksi Mufti, and M/S Cosmos Private Limited.

Nation bureau will also launch for awarding contracts to blue-eyed companies.

The officers and officials of Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) aren’t save from the Bureau as in the meeting it was also decided to initiated another inquiry against CAA over giving of contracts to blue-eyed companies for the purchase of instruments for airplanes.

Let’s see what does become of these cases, as NAB seems serious to inquire and bring to an end to these cases.
