Latest news surrounding latest flagship smartphones from Korean manufacturer Samsung is aided by some research based information that all in all discuss how 5G smartphones are doing. While there certainly has been the suggestion that 5G phones are doing pretty decently for the time being, a side effect of such a report is the suggestion of just how poor the sales for the Galaxy S20 could be.

Indeed latest reports are actually indicating that the sale numbers for the Galaxy S20 are in and around 50 percent lower when compared to the previous year’s Galaxy S10 series : taking into account the first seven weeks that the two flagship lineups have been available within the smartphone world in their respective periods. Even more disappointing news for Samsung is the fact that the Galaxy S10 numbers were already weak when compared with the sales that followed the Galaxy S9 lineup.

Considering the fact that the entire globe seems to be in a recession due to the COVD-19 pandemic, it’s fair to say that not many would be entertaining the idea of spending in and around $1000 on a Samsung flagship. This of course provides Samsung with the perfect opportunity of explaining why its flagship smartphone series is doing so poorly currently.

But then again, there has been data recently which suggests that Galaxy S flagships actually enjoy their peak sale time when the lineup has been released for two weeks. Taking this into consideration, when compared with both the Galaxy S10 as well as the Galaxy S9 series, the S20 series hasn’t done too good – even though the peak period was there for the taking. Even more so concerning is the fact that this peak period actually arrived before the pandemic became a real problem. And so it may be a fair conclusion that the Galaxy S20 series sales would have been low regardless of whether or not the world was going through a pandemic.
