COVID-19 can survive on human skin
It seems that the pandemic is far from over and a vaccine to counter the pandemic is still a little ways down the road, at this moment in time people are hoping for a breakthrough in the medical industry so that people all over the world have access to vaccine which can bring this pandemic to an end. Many medical organisations and teams of researchers are looking for a possible vaccine, which can in turn bring the spread of the coronavirus to an end, while at the same time many researchers are also trying to better understand the nature of the virus itself and well so far we have no positive news on that topic, in turn with every new report it seems that the virus brings a new variable in to consideration.

Researchers in Japan carried out a research on how long the virus can stay on your skin without using a sanitizer or other measures which such as washing hands. Their findings revealed that the coronavirus remains on the human skin for up to nine hours and the researchers stressed to their peers the need for frequent hand washing to combat and slow the spread of COVID-19 in offer to avoid further surge in the number of cases of people being infected by the deadly virus. .In addition, when compared with the common flu, researchers found that the pathogen that causes the flu, survives on human skin for only 1.8 hours, said the study, published this month in the Clinical Infectious Diseases journal.

The study ha backed the World Health Organisation guidance for regular and thorough hand washing to limit the spread of the virus to avoid another possible wave of the virus. The study notes that “The nine-hour survival of SARS-CoV-2 (the virus strain that causes COVID19) on human skin may increase the risk of contact transmission in comparison with IAV (Influenza), thus accelerating the pandemic,” The study further adds that “The longer survival of SARS-CoV-2 on the skin increases contact-transmission risk; however, hand hygiene can reduce this risk”. Finally it worth noting here that both of thecontagious diseases, the COVID-19 and the common flu, can be shut down in just 15 seconds by using sanitizers and products that contain ethanol.
