Just last week, it was announced by South Korean giant Samsung that the brand will remove advertisements from its own applications on its devices.

And now, just days after this particular announcement made its way, the company has also started taking steps towards this promise. Indeed in its very first move, Samsung has actually now stopped showing advertisements in its stock weather app.

This of course represents just the start as all other applications developed by the company for its smartphones will soon stop showing ads as well. While the weather app has indeed stopped showing ads, they still happen to be present in the Samsung Pay and Samsung Themes apps.

And so, with the introduction of its revamped custom user interface One UI, the South Korean brand has actually started to show ads in some of its most used applications. However, after user complaints as well as complaints coming in from the company’s employees, Samsung proceeded on to announce that it will end up removing ads from its smartphones.

The brand was seeking new growth opportunities in the field of content and advertising services, aiming therefore to provide useful information that customers require via the aid of both search as well as recommendation in the content service or the Galaxy Store. This then led to showing advertisements in Samsung phones.

The Korean manufacturer has claimed that the update should be ready by the end of this particular year – however, for now, there happens to be no exact timeline present. The rough estimate though from the giant itself hints that the upcoming One UI 4.0 which is based on the latest Android 12 operating system won’t have advertisements for the company’s own apps.

This move by Samsung will certainly be one for the fans as no one likes advertisements being shown when they’re using an app or are surfing the net. It’s annoying and is also obstructive.
