Both the Oneplus 7 as well as the Oneplus 7T series recently received an update that goes on to bring about some fixes as well as optimizations along with May’s security patch, however, unlike the case for the Oneplus 8 series, that update didn’t actually bring the Bitmoji AOD feature that many users were in fact looking forward to. And now, new information making rounds on the web goes on to claim that the AOD feature will not be made available for 2019 phones.

In accordance with the information shared on a Oneplus Forums thread, the AOD feature won’t exactly be coming on the Oneplus 7/7T series. An image which was included in the post shows a conversation held between a customer and a support staff member.

The support staff stated that courtesy of hardware differences, the AOD feature of the Oneplus 8T series and other models cannot be made available for such devices. It was then added that the research and development team tried to adopt several schemes and also even added the feature to the Open Beta version 3. Unfortunately enough though, they didn’t end up getting the desired optimization when it was added to the stable version and therefore had to remove it. Surprisingly enough, the support staff member did recommend that the user should switch back to the Open Beta 4 version if they want to access this particular feature.

This all does come as a surprise because Oneplus has of course made quite a name for itself because of the fact that it offers features that other manufacturers simply don’t and also because of the fact that it listens to what the fans have to say. Maybe this time too this may work and the fans may end up persuading the manufacturer to adopt the feature yet again.
