It might not take that long before HMD Global announces a new Nokia phone – since a new device with multiple model numbers has recently been approved by the FCC. The certification documents with regards to the FCC also go on to reveal some of the more important details concerning the phone.

The model number for the phone is listed as TA-1188, however, its variants include the likes of Nokia TA-1183 and TA-1184. It is believed that the TA-1188 will be the global variant, whereas Nokia TA-1183 and TA-1184 will be the Indian and Chinese variants. The variant TA-1188 was also recently certified by Russia’s Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC).

The device is codenamed ‘Wasp’ and the documents reveal that it will feature with 3 gigs of RAM, 32 gigs of internal storage, and also a headphone jack. The TA-1184 also features with dual SIM support, 2.4GHz Wi-Fi, and support for LTE bands 2, 4, 5, 7, 12, and 17.

The phone is 145.96mm long, 70.56mm wide, and measures 154.83mm diagonally – this resembling to roughly a 6.1-inch display. At this moment in time, there happen to be no diagrams which show whether the phone will come with a notch or what type it is.

One thing is for sure though – this will without doubt be mid-range device. There is also speculation that this unit may actually turn out to be the Nokia 5.2 – a phone which will succeed the Nokia 5.1 that made its debut back in August of last year.
