MWC is always a hectic time of the year for smartphone manufacturers with majority of them keen on showing off their greatest smartphones and also to unveil plans for the future. However, just like any other event, the hype does not last long and the world moves on to the ‘next big thing’. That ‘big thing’ could possibly be the OnePlus 7 and the renders that have been leaked by OnLeaks certainly show off an interesting device.

OnLeaks branded renders leaked suggest that it will feature a pop-up camera, instead of a sliding mechanism. That will allow the use of a higher screen-to-body ratio, while keeping the front-facing camera functionality. The display itself is expected to be 6.5-inches, and if OnePlus sticks to previous resolutions used, we can also expect FHD+, or 1080 x 2280 pixels.

Additionally, the renders suggest an extra lens on the back, for a triple-camera setup. Other rumoured specs include a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6GB of RAM, and a whopping 4,150mAh battery. We’ll definitely start hearing more about the phone as we get closer to its launch date.

Overall design-wise, the OnePlus does not seem to be a whole lot different from the device that it would be replacing with the same glass on glass design, same camera placement. One thing to be noticed from the leaks is that the headphone jack was missing. Considering a company like OnePlus, that strives on providing its customers with the basics and the most convenient user experience, absence of a headphone jack would be a really disappointing decision.

Moreover, 5G wasn’t mentioned as part of the expected specifications and that makes sense with 5G infrastructure not yet completed to be used and the expectation is that it would be operational by the end of 2019 or the beginning of next year. Considering the added premium that would make devices expensive which support 5G connectivity, this would be a smart move from OnePlus, who could keep the price relatively lower by introducing the OnePlus 7 initially, and then revealing the beefed up 7T by the end of the year. Till then, lets just make do with the following OnePlus 7 renders:
