Recently, the Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has scrapped the original NTC testing scheme, with a plan to launch a new undergraduate entry test replace it.

Acceptance of registrations from eligible candidates has been undertaken by new testing service.

An official announcement by the HEC declares the first ever government testing body namely the ‘Education Testing Council’ will start entry tests for universities from Fall of 2017. You can register online now for the tests directly at eportal.hec.gov.pk.

About the Undergraduate Entry Test:

All students expecting admissions in public and private sector universities will be required to pass an Undergraduate Entry Test.

Registration and the test can be availed free of cost and the test will be valid for a period of 2 years.

Who Can Apply?

Candidates can apply for the test if they:

Have completed 12 years of education (HSSC) or equivalent

Are waiting for your 12th-year results

Subject Categories

Six major categories are available where you can apply.

HAT – UG-E (12 years / equal Education in Pre-Engineering groups)

HAT – UG-M (12 years / equal Education in Pre-Medical group)

HAT – UG-A (12 years / equal Education in Arts/Humanities/Social Sciences group

HAT – UG-CS (12 years / equal Education in Computer Science group)

HAT – UG-GS (12 years /  equal Education in General Science group)

HAT – UG-I.Com (12 years / equal Education in I.Com group)

From HEC’s website, you can select a test center.  You should choose a test center nearest to your residence/district of domicile according to commission’s advice.

Undergraduate Test Date Announcement

The test dates announcements will be made through newspapers and on the HEC website. If you are registered on the ePortal you will receive an SMS alert with the details of test date, time and venue. List of universities registered at the HEC is also available on their website as well.

For online registration, the last date is July 12 (Wednesday), 2017.
