LoC has been the subject of another exchange between Pakistan and India with both countries involved in shooting causing the deaths of multiple soldiers. India has claimed to target terrorist camps near the LoC which has been debunked by Pakistan inviting India to view the areas themselves. India is currently considering the invitation and would respond back shortly.
This is a move of major significance considering how volatile the matters are between both countries regarding Kashmir and in a time of crisis like this, this invitation feels like a breadth of fresh air. A Foreign Office statement reads the following:
The Indian occupation forces, along the LoC and Working Boundary, have continuously been targeting civilian populated areas with artillery fire, heavy calibre mortars, and automatic weapons. Heinous Indian targeting of civilians is a typical attempt by India to divert international attention from the humanitarian nightmare in IOJ&K [Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir]
Major General Asif Ghafoor has also commented on the Indian allegations regarding the LoC violations:
The statement of Indian COAS claiming destruction of three alleged camps in AJK is disappointing as he holds a very responsible position. There are no camps let alone targeting them. The Indian embassy is welcome to take any foreign diplomat/media to prove it on ground. The propensity of false claims by senior Indian military leadership, especially since the Pulwama incident, is detrimental to peace in the region. Such false claims by Indian Army are being made to suit vested interests. This is against professional military ethics
The aim of the invitation seems to be project to the world the level of falsehood applied by India to make Pakistan look bad and deter its reputation in the world. Pakistan is already facing consequence regarding its terror financing situation and how the authorities have not been able to manage such problems effectively. In such a climate, it is deemed necessary to make sure all misunderstandings are clarified.
