With regards to holidays, there is nothing that Pakistanis like more than having holidays the start from Monday. This allows them to have a long holiday following the weekend and that makes room for trips and visits to different places for relaxation. This time its Eid-ul-Azha which would be providing this opportunity with the 10th of Zilhaj expected to be on 12th of August, which is a Monday. However, rather than relaxation it would be a festival of celebration and a time to spend with family and have get-togethers with relatives and friends whilst enjoying barbq.

A notification issued from the Ministry of Interior on Wednesday has stated that the vacations will start from Monday, 12th of August and continue till 15th August, Thursday which could well be considered as an entire week of holidays with Friday and Saturday being considered as days on which people would rather sit and enjoy at home rather than open their business because of the lack of any business dealings during such days post-eid.

The Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet under the chairmanship of Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman to sight the Zilhaj moon on Friday with the last month of the lunar/Islamic calendar starting from August 3rd. It seems like the tussle with Fawad Chaudhary with regards to accuracy of Islamic dates remains unresolves with the committee still being the authority in Pakistan for the declaration of moon sightings.

However, it is a time of positive vibes and a time to interact with our communities and people that we are close to, to increase the blessings of this Holy Month. Sacrifice is just part of the reason why Muslims should consider this as a holy month as it also allows us to think of the poor and share the meat of Qurbani with them.
