Regime change; PCB fires Najam Sethi nominees amongst the cadre
Just like other major zones of country, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is also on a roller coaster nowadays that continuously reshuffling top officers. Following the PM Imran Khan’s instruction; first Ehsan Mani was appointed as the PCB Chairman replacing Najam Sethi, then Shoaib Akhtar resigned from his post as Adviser to Chairman.
Now, three more advisors have been fired from their positions as Advisers to Chairman. Not to know, these 3 advisors were appointed on the instructions of the former Chairman Najam Sethi.
In a recent notice issued by the cricket’s regulatory body,it has informed to three advisors of PCB chairman including Izad Syed, Shakeel Sheikh and Salahuddin Salluthat they have been removed from their positions.
Last month, Najam Sethi has also resigned from his post as Imran Khan had already made his intentions clear to remove him from the position of chairman PCB if he came into power. Imran khan took oath on August 18 as the new Prime Minister of Pakistan and Najam Sethi resigned on August 20.
Now the new chairman of PCB is “Ehsan Mani “whowas elected as the PCB Chairman last week. Right after that, Shoaib Akhtar (former fast bowler)also resignedand shared the news with his fans on Twitter.
This latest notification, to remove three more advisers from their roles was issued on Friday last week.
The objective behind all these firing and hiring is to improve the structure of PCB as Imran Khan wants to revamp the domestic structure and aims to apply a model of good governance in the PCB. Let’s see how the board achieves the goals in line with Khan’s vision. If it happens, then no one can stop Pakistani team to achieve best in the field of cricket.
