PEMRA once again bans Dr. Amir Liaquat for 30 days over creating religious drama

PEMRA once again bans Dr. Amir Liaquat for 30 days over creating religious drama. Dr. Amir Liaquat is one of the most controversial personalities of Pakistan and once again PEMRA has imposed a ban on him from appearing on Pakistani television for 30 days.

He was doing the Ramzan transmission on Bol news channel and in this regard, the authority has already sent a notice to Dr. Amir, excluding him from making another TV appearance within the abovementioned time period.

Moreover, both of his shows, ‘Ramzan Main Bol’ and ‘Aisa Nahi Chalay Ga’ have been banned from getting coverage on national television.

According to PEMRA’s official Twitter account,

“PEMRA prohibits Bol News to broadcast or Re-broadcast, programmes titled “Ramzan Main Bol” and ‘Aisa Nahi Chalay Ga’ “.

On the other hand, the notification reads:

“Dr. Aamir Liaquat took a video call from Gujrat, India, wherein the caller questioned about the Caliphate of Hazrat Ali, RA. The content was aired live, unedited and without any delay.”

It is relevant to mention here that it’s not the first time Dr. Amir Liaquat is getting banned by PEMRA, as he had banned multiple times due to his “hate speech” or unnecessary drama on media channels.

This time, he is banned due to creating a drama over very critical religious issue in the presence of guests Ulemas including Molana Kokam Norani in the Ramzan transmission.

“Dr. Amir Liaquat Hussain, questioned Dr. Zakir Naik, intentionally and unnecessarily maligned last Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him), through such words which any sensible Muslim, cannot even think about and the same cannot be even written here in this letter.”

When situation became intense, Dr. Amir left the scene on national television, “leaving the live platform for the guests Ulemas who exchanged quite harsh arguments referring to some conspiracy.” And then next day he comes with innocent face like nothing has happened and claiming his innocence.

The letter also highlighted the anchor’s past activities of giving rise to controversies for getting fake publicity. He also used immoral language which is extremely offensive in the Muslim world.

So, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) banned him once again and this time for 30 days. According to PEMRA he continuously causes “unwarranted drama” over the media in order to increase ratings for his show which hurts sentiments of Pakistan citizens.
