ASUS has added to this gaming phone the world’s fastest 2.96GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC that is coupled with a Qualcomm Adreno 630 GPU.
Likes of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2s, the One Plus 6, the HTC U12+, the Sony Xperia XZ2 compact, the Sony Xperia XZ2 & the Qualcomm version of the Samsung Galaxy S9+ in get beaten by the Asus ROG Phone in the multi-core Geekbench 4.1 test .
The Asus ROG Phone comes up top once again in the single-core test on the same Geekbench platform.
Though the Asus ROG Phone beats the handsets, the difference is not made by much.
According to a report it is not clear if the benchmark benefited from the X Mode, which disables the 4 slow cores in the Snapdragon 845 and increases the minimum clock speed of the 4 big cores.
The big cores give most of the power in multi-core tests. With one core scoring around 2500, 4 of them should hit 10000. But they don’t do it because of heat. One core can run cool, with four in need to clock down.
So, to disable the four small cores leave some headroom for the big ones to show what is their best.
ROG has also partnered with ‘Garena’ — developer of one of the world’s best-ranking survival shooter games, Free Fire.
